Janis grew up in Los Angeles studying jazz and classical double bass. She graduated from Mcgill University in Montreal with a Bachelor’s degree in classical music performance.

She soon expanded her expertise in music to djing house and techno.

Janis has been based in Dubai for the past 6 years holding residencies at many award-winning venues and performing at high-profile events throughout the Gulf region such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

Although starting her career purely with house music, Jabu is very experienced at mixing many styles :
chillout, commercial dance, disco, funk, reggae, hip-hop, Latino, Arabic, rock, and old-school classics.
In addition to being one of the most versatile open-format DJs in UAE, Janis is also a professional bassist and regularly performs with the Abu Dhabi NSO Symphony Orchestra.
